Ramban Police solve fake accident case
Ramban, Sep 22: Four persons including owner of a truck, its driver, and two others were arrested by police for staging a fake acciden.
According to Police on September 14 an information was received at Police Station Ramsoo through reliable sources that a Truck bearing registration No. JK20C-3611 driven by Mohammad Shabir son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Tuli Reasi on its way from Jammu towards Srinagar rolled down into a deep gorge about 350-400 mtrs in Panthyal area on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
On the basis of information a case FIR-106 of 2024 under section 281 BNS was registered at Police Station Ramsoo and Police team headed by SDPO Banihal along with SHO Ramsoo visited the scene of crime and noticed some foul play in the accident. SSP Ramban Kulbir Singh sensing the gravity of foul play in the accident, constituted a Special Police team to ascertain the fact behind the fake accident. During the investigation the Police team traced the driver of the said vehicle Mohammad Shabir.
Giving details Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban, Kulbeer Singh said during questioning driver Mohd Shabir disclosed that on September 12 on the directions of the owner of truck Mohammad Abdullah son of Abdul resident of Tuli, Tehsil Chassana District Reasi he loaded the consignment of dry fruits (400 boxes)from Gangyal for Srinagar.
During the intervening night of September 12 and 13 the consignment of dry fruits which was to be delivered at Srinagar was shifted to another truck near Ban Toll Plaze area by the owner of the truck along with two more persons and kept only 10-15 boxes in the truck to be delivered at Srinagar.
The owner of the truck Mohammad Abdullah hatched criminal conspiracy to hush up the consignment of the dry fruits, the truck driver Mohammad Shabir Son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Tuli Tehsil Chassana District Reasi was directed to manage the accident of truck on NH-44 preferably in Panthyal area. Accordingly, driver of the truck Mohd Shabir driver managed the accident of the truck by rolling the same into the deep gorge and spread 10 to 15 dry fruits boxes at the accident site so that the accident may appear natural and thereafter he managed to escape from the spot.
The Police team arrested four persons involved in the commission of the crime, seized the dry fruits boxes and Vehicles involved in the commission of offence.
On the pointing out of Abdullah owner of the truck Police seized the dry fruits boxes alongwith the truck from Buddal Rajouri area in which consignment of dry fruits was shifted near Ban Toll Plaza. Police identified the four arrested persons as Mohammad Shabir , son of Ghulam Nabi, Mohd Abdullah son of Abdul, Ayaz Ahmed son of Mohd Afzal all residents of Tuli, Tehsil Chassana District Reasi and Ibrar Ali son of Mohd Azim resident of Ward No. 6 Nowshera. The further investigation of the case is ongoing.
