Ramban Police book Bangladeshi national under Immigration & Foreigners Act
Ramban, Dec 06: Ramban Police have registered a case against a Bangladeshi national for illegally entering and staying in India in violation of immigration laws.
Reliable information was received at Police Station Chanderkote that a woman identified as Happu Akhter, D/O Haroon Rasheed Khan, a resident of Habiganj District, Bangladesh, had unlawfully entered India without possessing a valid passport or visa. During verification, it surfaced that the said woman had been residing in the Kunfer area of Chanderkote, Tehsil & District Ramban, for the past some days.
Preliminary enquiry further revealed that she had been attempting to conceal her identity, raising serious suspicion regarding the purpose of her illegal presence in the area. Based on the findings, a case FIR No. 77/2025 under relevant provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Act has been registered at Police Station Chanderkote, and further investigation has been set into motion.
Ramban Police appealed to the general public to remain vigilant and refrain from providing shelter, accommodation, or assistance to any illegal foreign national. They advised people not to enter into any form of contract or marriage with such individuals without verifying their legal status, as doing so may attract legal consequences.
