Ramban mishap: PM Modi announces ex-gratia for NOKs of deceased

Srinagar, Mar 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed profound grief over tragic road accident in Ramban district on Srinagar-Jammu highway, leaving ten persons dead.

PM Modi extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for quick recovery of the injured.

He also announced ex-gratia of rupees two-lakh from PMNRF to the next of kin of each deceased while as 50 thousand for injured.

Taking to micro-blogging site X, the PMO India in a post said “PM @narendramodi has expressed grief on the accident in Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir. He extends condolences to the bereaved families and prays for a quick recovery of the injured”.

It added, “An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000”.
