Banihal, May 14: In a tragic incident, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the Principal District and Sessions Court, Ramban, Prabhat Singh, lost his life in a fatal road accident on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Maroog early Wednesday morning.

According to a police official, "Prabhat Singh (59), a resident of Dhanmasta Pogal in Ramban district, was on his way to Ramban to attend his duty when his scooty was hit by a speeding LPG tanker near Maroog. He died on the spot."

SHO Ramban, Vikram Singh Parihar, confirmed that Prabhat Singh was hit by an LPG tanker and died instantly. He added that the tanker driver has been taken into custody and legal formalities are underway.

The Judicial Employees Welfare Association (JEWA), Ramban, expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of CAO Prabhat Singh.

In a statement, JEWA State Executive Body member Manzoor Ahmed Wani said, “The untimely death of CAO Prabhat Singh has shocked all of us. We stand with the bereaved family in this difficult time.”
