Ramban boy selected in ECL 2025

Banihal, Jan 15: 22-year-old Shahid Irshad Nayak, a social media influencer from Mahoo Mangit valley in Khari Tehsil of Ramban district, has been selected to play for Delhi Dynamics in the 2025 Entertainment Cricket League (ECL).

Bought by Delhi Dynamics for Rs 5 lakhs in a bid auction held in Mumbai, trails for the entertainment cricket league were held in Delhi. The entertainment cricket league tournament is starting next month in Mumbai.

According to Nayak, he is the only social media influencer from the Jammu division to have secured a spot in this unique competition.

With his selection from the region on a bigger platform, he said, “There is joy and happiness among my followers and supporters from Banihal and Ramban districts.”

Nayak hails from Mahoo, a remote village situated approximately 28 kilometres from Banihal. His father, Irshad Ali Nayak, is a retired lecturer, and his elder brother, Showkat Irshad, is a well-known social activist in the region.

Perusing graduation, Nayak is active on social media platforms including YouTube and has over 4 lakh followers on social media platform Instagram.

The Entertainment Cricket League is an initiative that combines the glamour of social media with competitive cricket. The event features six teams—the Mumbai Disruptors, Bangalore Bashers, Chennai Smashers, Delhi Dynamics, Haryanvi Hunters, and Punjab Veers.

Each team is captained by a prominent influencer, making the tournament a unique spectacle that blends entertainment with the spirit of sportsmanship.
