Ram Navmi Shobha Yatra taken out in Jammu
Jammu, Apr 5: A grand “Shobha Yatra” (religious procession) was taken out on the eve of Ram Navmi festival on Saturday in Jammu. Yatra (religious procession) was organized by J&K Dharmarth Trust in collaboration with Sanatan Dharm Sabha, Jammu and Dharmik Yuvak Mandal. The grand chariot of Lord Ram was taken out from Dewan temple and Shobha Yatra began from Shri Raghunath temple after JMC Commissioner Devansh Yadav, joined by others, performed Puja. Yatra, after passing through main markets of Jammu city viz., Vir Marg, City Chowk, Rajendra Bazar, Kanak Mandi, Shalamar chowk, Purani Mandi, Jain Bazar, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazar, culminated at Shri Raghunath temple, amid tight security arrangements.
Trustee J&K Dharmarth Trust and former minister Ajatshatru Singh, who was among those leading the Yatra, while speaking to the media, said, “Tomorrow on the occasion of Ram Navmi, all shops and market establishments will remain closed on account of Sunday.
Therefore, Shobha Yatra has been organized a day in advance to ensure overwhelming participation of all sections of the society, including shopkeepers’ organisations and market associations, besides women and youth.” Extending greetings of Shri Durga Ashtami and Ram Navmi to all, Singh hoped that the festival would bring peace, prosperity and happiness across J&K. Communal harmony was as usual at display with the members of Muslim and other religious communities welcoming Yatra and helping in its smooth conduct.
