Srinagar, Oct 24: To sensitise students about the ill effects of burning crackers, an “Anti Fire-Cracker Rally” was organised by the students of Ashiana Public School.

The students created colorful banners and handouts to raise awareness among the general public about the negative effects of bursting crackers on Diwali.

With thought-provoking banners in hand and inspiring slogans, the students conducted the rally today in the school neighborhood.

The rally was flagged off by the school director, Lalita Prakash, and the principal, Monika Sharma.

The children spread awareness about the serious consequences of bursting crackers and encouraged people to celebrate a green, environmentally friendly Diwali. They pledged to promote love, kindness, and happiness instead of harmful fumes this Diwali. Children distributed handouts and diyas, reinforcing the message to celebrate a green Diwali.

In addition to the rally, a variety of engaging and creative activities were conducted for students of various grades. Students enthusiastically participated in activities such as lantern making, poster making and inter-house banner making. Additionally, the students took part with great zeal in the inter house “Essence of Diwali” competition, where they showcased how Diwali is celebrated in different parts of India, highlighting cultural and traditional practices across various regions.

All activities centered on the theme of celebrating Diwali, bringing children closer to their cultural heritage.
