Rajwar residents seek establishment of degree college
The residents of Rajwar in north Kashmir’s Handwara Sub-District have appealed to the authorities to establish a Government Degree College in their area to address the hardships faced by students.
The residents stated that Rajwar comprises over sixty villages, making the establishment of a Government Degree College a pressing need.
They noted that students from Upper Rajwar are the worst affected, as they must travel over twenty-five kilometers to reach Handwara and attend college there.
“The people from Upper Rajwar are not financially well-off, so they cannot spend much on their children's education. Authorities must understand the struggles of poor students in the Rajwar area and approve the college at the earliest,” they added.
The residents are calling for the immediate intervention of Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Handwara, Sajad Gani Lone, to ensure that a college is sanctioned for Rajwar as soon as possible.
