Plea from residents for special plan to repair roads in rural areas

People from Rajouri and Poonch districts have requested Jammu and Kashmir Government to sanction a special plan in order to improve and repair the roads in rural areas.

The locals said that a number of roads in the rural belts of twin districts are in dilapidated condition which also make these roads accident prone.

Kamal Kishore, Sunil Sharma, Basharat Mohammad and other locals said that maintenance and repair of existing roads should be the prime priority of government along with the construction of new roads and there is a need of special plan to do the same.

They said that a number of roads in rural areas are in dilapidated condition requiring urgent repairs.

Promote apple farming in Rajouri

Farmers from Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir have appealed the government authorities to promote apple farming on large scale as trial efforts have proven positive results.

Apple farming in Rajouri is being considered as a favourable move keeping in view the weather conditions in upper areas with a high density apple orchard has also been established in a village of Thanamandi.

Locals have demanded a special 'Apple Farming' plan in the district which will be main step to boost the farming of this crop.

They said that apple is a cash crop which will provide large scale income to farmers and areas like Budhal, Kotranka, Darhal, Thanamandi are also favourable in terms of apple farming due to weather conditions.

Provide full time Principal in GMC Rajouri

Inhabitants of Rajouri and Poonch districts have appealed Jammu and Kashmir Government to post a full time Principal in Government Medical College Rajouri.

Kapil Saryal, a young leader of Rajouri alongwith others said that GMC Rajouri is the prime health institute of the Pir Panjal region with responsibility of healthcare of around fifteen lakh population lies on this medical college but no regular Principal is posted here from last around two years.

They said that Government should lay concern towards the matter and regular Principal should be posted in the institute and decisions of additional charge should immediately be stopped.
