Formulate proper plan to ease traffic flow on roads

Expressing concern over traffic congestion on roads in urban areas of Rajouri and, Poonch districts, people have demanded devising of a proper plan to ease traffic flow on roads.

Locals said that many roads in urban areas of twin districts are bit congested awaiting widening and it causes traffic congestion. The traffic jamming many a times affect the life of people.

Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, a socio-political activist said that traffic congestion is affecting life. The jamming on roads like GMC Rajouri road at Kheora locality many a times become a sensitive issue due to patient movement for which authorities should put in place a proper plan and to ease traffic flow.

Repair high mast lights in town areas

Citing importance of installation of high mast lights to deal with many issues including hassle free pedestrian movement in night hours and to prevent crime acts, people have called for repairing of all high mast street lights in town areas of Rajouri and Poonch. They have also demanded installation of new lights at important and busy public places.

The people said that many high mast street lights were installed in Rajouri, Poonch areas a decade ago but most of these lights await repair and are lying defunct due to technical snags.

Locals including Ajaz Ahmed, Shibam Kumar, Kuldeep Singh and others said that proper lightening in urban area streets and roads is must to ensure that pedestrians face no issue in moving during nights and it also acts as a preventive move towards crimes like purse snatching.

They said that all the high mast street lights should immediately be repaired to ensure that their benefits are achieved.

Open LPG cylinder distribution points at village levels

People from twin districts Rajouri and Poonch have appealed Jammu and Kashmir Government to establish Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders distribution points at village levels and to distribute cylinders among masses once a week.

They said that LPG cylinder distribution points are located at some rural places but there is a need to establish these points at village levels to ensure that people get cylinders in a hassle free manner.

Locals highlighted problems faced by people in getting LPG cylinders in rural areas.
