Unexplained deaths: Badhal Rajouri declared as containment zone
Srinagar, Jan 22: The district administration of Rajouri has officially designated Badhal area as a containment zone, imposing a ban on all gatherings in the region, in view of 17 unexplained deaths in the village.
A formal order issued by the District Magistrate of Rajouri mandates that designated officials will oversee the distribution of meals to families within the containment zone.
The tragic loss of 17 lives, affecting three families, has led to heightened concern. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has already commenced its investigation at the scene.
The order outlines several measures to contain the situation:
- Containment Zone 1: All households where deaths have occurred will be sealed, and entry will be restricted to only authorized personnel.
- Containment Zone 2: Families identified as close contacts of the deceased will be relocated to GMC Rajouri for ongoing health monitoring.
- Containment Zone 3: All households within Badhal Village will be monitored for food distribution.
The order also mandates strict surveillance of food consumption. Police personnel will be stationed in the area to ensure compliance, and a logbook will be maintained to document the distribution and consumption of meals. This logbook will be updated three times daily and signed by the monitoring officer for accountability.
To prevent further spread of the infection, the order also prohibits any form of public or private gatherings within the containment zones.
Local authorities are committed to ensuring strict enforcement of these measures, with continuous monitoring of all activities in the affected zones.
