Rajouri inhabitants rue unregulated burning of garbage
Rajouri, Nov 20: Inhabitants of Rajouri town are fumed over open burning of garbage in some busy places citing it a direct threat to their health conditions.
The locals of town said that garbage dumping remained a major problem in this town during past years but there is some improvement in terms of garbage collection and disposal but sometimes garbage is set afire that causes health hazards.
Rinku Kumar, a trader from Rajouri’s Jawahar Nagar said that “once or twice in a month, the employees of municipality set on fire the garbage and smoke coming out of it creates unhealthy situation in the entire locality making it difficult for people to walk and traders to run their shops.”
He along with other locals including Sanjeev Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Nasir Ahmed said that open burning of garbage should be checked at the earliest and any employee found indulged in the should immediately be acted upon.
