Rajouri infiltration: M4 Carbine, 2 AKs, 8 grenades recovered from killed infiltrators

Srinagar, Sep 09: The army on Monday claimed to have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the two infiltrators it earlier said it killed in Laam area of Nowshera sector in Jammu's Rajouri.

Quoting defence sources, news agency NVI reported that the recovery includes two Ak-47 riffles, one M4 carbine with vision device, a pistol, eight grenades, assorted ammunition, personal clothing and edibles.

Earlier, in a night long operation, two terrorists were killed as they tried to infiltrate from Lam area of Nowshera sector.

Defence sources said that both the infiltrators were foreigners and their identity and affiliation is underway.

The armed operation happened just nine days before the J&K Assembly polls.

Search operation in the Lam area is still on, sources said.
