Rajouri army school students shortlisted for national award
Rajouri, Jan 17: Two students of army-run Tender Feet School near Line of Control (LoC) have brought laurels to the district and the Union Territory as they have been shortlisted for national award for designing an ‘earthquake alarm system’.
These students Rithik Sharma and Manan Kashyap will present their innovative project on Republic Day at a university of Mohali.
Tender Feet School is located near the Line of Control in Keri area of Rajouri district.
The Army said, “It's Romeo Force, a Counter Insurgency (CI) establishment, which is fostering the empowerment of economically disadvantaged children through Tender Feet School, Keri.”
“Recently, students from Tender Feet School, Keri namely Rithik Sharma and Manan Kashyap took the initiative to address the challenges posed by earthquakes and showcased their innovation “an earthquake alarm system” at a project event online conducted by Plaksha University, Mohali-Chandigarh in Punjab,” the army said.
“The children have now been selected to present their innovative project on Republic Day at Plaksha University, Mohali. This endeavour highlights the Indian Army’s dedication to the welfare of the local populace, underscoring their commitment to moulding a brighter future for both students and the community,” it added.
“For bringing laurels to the school, the GOC White Knight Corps has also congratulated Rithik Sharma and Manan Kashyap, who have been shortlisted for the national award under the aegis of Bharti Foundation and National Innovation Club,” the army said.
