Rajiv Omprakash Pande is new DIG Central Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 6: Senior Indian Police Service (PIS) officer Rajiv Omprakash Pande of the 2010 batch of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir cadre now AGMUT cadre is the new Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Police Central Kashmir Range (CKR).

Rajiv Pande was repatriated from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) where he served as SSP NIA J&K and was recently promoted as a DIG.

Pande on assuming the charge would relieve the incumbent DIG CKR Altaf Ahmad Khan of additional charges.

“In the interest of administration, it is hereby ordered that Pande, IPS (AGMUT: 2010), upon repatriation to Jammu and Kashmir, is posted as DIG CKR against an available vacancy, relieving Altaf Ahmad Khan, IPS, of the additional charge of the said post,” reads an order issued by the J&K Home Department.

Before proceeding on central deputation, the senior Police officer served in many capacities in J&K and Ladakh.

He has served as SSP CIK, SSP in CID, SSP Poonch, SSP Udhampur, and SSP Leh.

On January 30, the Ministry of Home Affairs ordered the premature repatriation of Pande to his parent cadre with immediate effect.

The repatriation by MHA was ordered after the J&K government made a request.
