Ramban flash floods: Seven missing, two bodies retrieved so far
Banihal, Aug 27: Seven people have gone missing after a cloudburst triggered flash floods in Rajgarh tehsil of Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. However two male bodies have been retrieved so far from the flooded nallahs.
Officials said two bodies identified as Khalid Ahmed (12), son of Haji Sajjad Ahmed Parihar, resident of Suli Kamait and Yasir Ahmed (20), son of Bagh Din Gujjar, resident of Gadgram Rajgarh have been retrieved so far.
The all missing/retrieved have been identified as Naseema Begum wife of Bagh Din, his son Yasir Ahmed (retrieved ) and his daughter Shazia Banoo resident of Gadgram.
The missing wife of Haji Sajjad Ahmed Parihar identified as Gulshan Begum (42), his son Khalid Ahmed (12) (retrieved) and his daughter Seerat Banoo (8) years old are still missing.
Officials said one more girl of the area identified as Qazia Banoo (6) daughter of Sajjad Ahmed resident of Dungar Dandllah is also missing.
Tehsildar Rajgarh Major Singh who is supervising the rescue operations told Greater Kashmir that rescue teams comprising police, SDRF and locals retrieved the dead body of Khalid Ahmed on Monday evening, while as the dead body of Yasir Ahmed was recovered this morning.
He said Police, SDRF, and local volunteers are engaged in ongoing rescue operations to find and retrieve the missing persons. He said more rains have started in the area.
