Rain, thunderstorms expected in J&K from April 16-20: MET Centre

Srinagar, April 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Meteorological Department has predicted the weather conditions for next week are likely to be unstable particularly between April 18-20. 

According to the latest update from the MET Centre, the region is likely to witness generally cloudy skies on April 16, with brief spells of light rain, thunder, expected in parts of North and central Kashmir during the afternoon. The weather is likely to remain generally dry on April 17. 

However from April 18 to 20, the department has forecast a significant shift, with light to moderate rain and snow likely at higher reaches. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated to scattered locations especially during the evening of April 18 to April 20. 

The forecast for April 21 suggests generally cloudy conditions, while dry weather is expected to return from April 22 to April 27. Residents and travelers are advised to follow traffic and administrative advisories carefully and plan accordingly.
