Srinagar, July 02: Amid crushing heatwave in Jammu and Kashmir, the Meteorological department predicted light to moderate spell of rain and thundershower in parts of Kashmir and Udhampur during next 2-3 hours.

The officials said that few places in north and central Kashmir may receive intense showers which may trigger flash floods with gusty winds.

“A spell of light to moderate rain/thundershower over Kupwara, Baramulla,  Sopore, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Kangan, Gund-Sonamarg axis, parts of Srinagar and few parts of Udhampur during next 2-3 hours,” MeT official said.

“Few places of Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora & Ganderbal district may recieve intense showers (may generate flash floods) with gusty winds,” he said.

The official warned of landslides and mudslides in the meanwhile at few vulnerable places.
