Rahul Gandhi, Malikarjun Kharge arrive in Srinagar
Srinagar, Aug 21: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi along with Congress president Malikarjun Kharge arrived Srinagar this evening for a two-day visit to J&K. The leaders will take stock of party’s preparedness ahead of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The leaders as per reports will drive straight to Lalit Grand Palace and then subsequently reach to Nehru Guest House.
Reports said that both leaders will interact with party leaders in view of Assembly elections which are scheduled to be held in three-phases, starting from September 18 to October 1.
The leaders will hold thorough discussions with party leaders both in Srinagar and Jammu, and take stock of party’s poll preparedness.
Reports added they are likely to meet the regional political parties to discuss pre-poll alliance.
Meanwhile sources revealed that many political leaders and activists are expected to join the Congress party in the next 24-hours who will be welcomed by Rahul Gandhi and Malikarjun Kharge.
