Rahul Gandhi enjoyed kababs in Srinagar because there is peace: Jitendra Singh
Srinagar, Sep 04: Senior BJP leader and the Union Minister of State, Dr Jitendra Singh on Wednesday ridiculed the Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi's statement that there is no democracy in J-K.
"Had there not been peace in Kashmir, how could the Leader of Opposition enjoy ice-cream in Lal Chowk and relish Kababs in the city centre?" Singh questioned.
Singh said he wonders when Rahul Gandhi questions the state of democracy in J&K. "Hasn't the terrorism almost ended, isn't there development in Kashmir," said Singh while addressing a presser in Srinagar.
The Union Minister Singh went on to say that "a fearless atmosphere is prevailing in the valley," reported news agency NVI.
In past, he said there were calls for strikes and disruptions during the elections, however, the case is otherwise this time, he said.
Replying to Rahul Gandhi’s speech which he made in Ramban today where Gandhi said that PM Narendera Modi was spreading hatred, Singh said for 30 longs years, it was the Congress and NC that spread the hatred.
About Congress-NC alliance, Singh said that BJP has seen the fate of such alliances in the past.
“Earlier, there was a Gupkar alliance where is that now,” he remarked.
“These alliances are destined to fail as BJP has emerged as a best alternative to these parties in J&K," claimed Singh.
