Rafiq Masoodi’s poetry collection ‘Bay Pay Talaash’ released
Srinagar, May 25: In a stirring celebration of Kashmiri literature and poetic expression, the book release function of ëBay Pay Talaashí, a new poetry collection by noted writer and broadcaster Rafiq Masoodi, was held at a literary gathering in Srinagar on Sunday.
Organised by Majlis-ul-Nisa Sopore in collaboration with Adabi Markaz Kamraz (AMK), the event drew prominent literary figures, scholars, poets, and cultural enthusiasts to honour a poet.
The book, written in Kashmiri, delves into themes of existential yearning and cultural identity.
With its evocative title ëBay Pay Talaashí (An Endless Search), Masoodi invites readers on a journey through verses that mirror the collective consciousness of a people caught between memory and modernity.
Director of School Education Kashmir, Ghulam Nabi Itoo, who was the chief guest on the occasion, lauded Masoodiís efforts in enriching Kashmiri literature.
ìMasoodi Sahibís contribution is both artistic and cultural. Through his poetic expression, he keeps the linguistic heritage of Kashmir alive and accessible,î Itoo said.
Veteran literary voices including Prof Shad Ramzan, Prof Naseem Shifai, and AMK President Amin Bhat, were also present on the occasion.
In her address, Prof Naseem Shifai highlighted the evolving role of women in Kashmiri literary spaces and commended the organisers for promoting such inclusive platforms.
AMK President Bhat, while congratulating the author, emphasised the transformative power of poetry in shaping societal narratives.
Addressing the media on the sidelines of the function, Rafiq Masoodi thanked his readers and the literary fraternity.
ìBay Pay Talaash is deeply personal, yet it resonates with every Kashmiri heart. It is my humble offering to our language and culture. I hope it finds the same love and acceptance that my earlier works received,î he said.
The function concluded with poetic recitations and musical renditions inspired by verses from the book.
