Qatar backs India’s fight against terror in wake of Pahalgam attack
New Delhi, May 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a phone call from the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, who conveyed condolences over the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives.
The Qatari leader expressed solidarity with the people of India and affirmed his full support for India’s efforts to combat terrorism and bring the perpetrators to justice.
PM Modi thanked the Amir for his "clear message of solidarity and support" and said the gesture reflected the strength of the growing bilateral ties. “India deeply values Qatar’s friendship and its firm stand against terrorism,” the Prime Minister said. The Ministry of External Affairs also highlighted the conversation in a post on X. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote: “He [the Amir] expressed full support in India’s fight against terrorism and all its actions to bring the perpetrators to justice.” Both leaders reiterated their commitment to deepen the India-Qatar Strategic Partnership and to advance the outcomes of Sheikh Tamim’s state visit to India earlier this year.
