PWS student selected for YFU India short-term scholarship to Japan
Srinagar, Nov 1: Partap World School, Pathankot has announced that Vanya Malhotra, a promising student of the institution, has been selected as a 2026 YFU (Youth for Understanding) India Short-Term Scholarship recipient to Japan. Adding to the glory, Vanya has been awarded a full scholarship, entirely funded by the Government of Japan.
Among hundreds of applicants from across India, Vanya stands out as one of only four girls selected from the state of Punjab and the only student from the Pathankot district — a matter of immense pride for both the school and the region, said a press release from PWS.
The YFU India Exchange Program identifies students who exemplify open-mindedness, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity, providing them an opportunity to represent India on a global platform. Vanya’s selection underscores her academic excellence, leadership qualities, and eagerness to learn from international experiences.
Deputy Commissioner Pathankot, Dr. Palavi met and congratulated Vanya for her exceptional accomplishment. Sunny Mahajan, Director of Partap World School, said, “Vanya’s achievement is a shining example of how our students can reach global heights with determination and curiosity.
