PWD floats tender for maintenance of dilapidated Chowdhary Nar road

Rajouri, Nov 22: Finally Public Works Department (PWD), waking up to people’s grievances, has set in motion the process for necessary maintenance and repair of dilapidated Chowdhary Nar road with the floating of tenders.

The action has been taken days after Greater Kashmir carried out a news highlighting dilapidated condition of main road connecting Chowdhary Nar with Ujhan, Leeran upto Darhal.

The said stretch falls on the road, connecting Rajouri town with Darhal tehsil headquarter. Its stretch right from Chowdhary Nar bus stand to Darhal town via Leeran, Malhut, Ujhan is in dilapidated condition with big potholes and loosening surface – cause of frequent accidents.

Greater Kashmir, while highlighting the issue, had raised the public demand for necessary maintenance and repair of the stretch.

The tender of this work has been floated by the office of Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Rajouri.

As per the tender, the first two kilometres of this stretch will be repaired and maintained, in terms of pothole repairing and filling. A timeline of two months has been fixed for completion of work.
