With over 100 households, the village has been without piped water for two and a half years. A group of residents told Greater Kashmir that they have brought the issue to the attention of the authorities several times, but to no avail.

"We have only received empty assurances and false promises," they said. The residents expressed that they have completely lost faith in the local administration.

Mohammad Altaf, a resident, stated that the women in the area have had to bear the brunt of the water crisis. "They have to walk long distances daily to fetch water, which burdens them significantly," he said.

According to the residents, work on a water supply scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission was started months ago but proceeded intermittently before abruptly stopping. "We are clueless as to why it was left halfway through," they said.
