PUCA delegation meets Bihar Governor, announces Rs 50 Cr scholarship for students
Srinagar, July 20: A delegation from the Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) met the Governor of Bihar, Arif Mohammed Khan, to announce a major scholarship initiative for students from the state.
As per the statement issued, the delegation was led by Dr. Anshu Kataria, President of PUCA and Chairman of Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura (near Chandigarh). The team included prominent educationists and PUCA office bearers such as Adv. Amit Sharma (Senior Vice President), S. Gurpreet Singh (General Secretary), Ashok Garg (Treasurer), and executive members Dr. D.J. Singh and S. Jaspal Singh.
During the meeting, Dr. Kataria informed the Governor that PUCA member colleges have pledged scholarships worth Rs 50 crore for students from Bihar pursuing higher education in various professional courses.
Dr. Kataria also highlighted the strong historical and cultural ties between Punjab and Bihar, noting that the presence of Takht Sri Patna Sahib in Bihar is a testament to the deep-rooted connection between the two states. He acknowledged the significant contributions of the people of Bihar to Punjab’s agricultural and social development, particularly during the Green Revolution.
The Governor appreciated the initiative and encouraged PUCA members to continue creating such educational opportunities for students from Bihar.
