PUCA celebrates 8th Foundation Day

Srinagar, May 20: Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) celebrated its 8th Foundation Day in association with Punjab Unaided Technical Institute Association (PUTIA).

S Harjot Singh Bains, Education Minister, Punjab and S. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Member Rajya Sabha; Patron, Joint Association of Colleges (JAC) were special guests. Dr Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA; Co Chairman, JAC & Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges presided over the function on the theme “Making Punjab the Destination for Technical Education”.

The programme commenced with the formal lamp lighting ceremony. Dr Kataria thanked all the members for their unconditional support to PUCA in the last 7 years. On the occasion, Dr. Kataria explained all the achievements of PUCA in the last 7 years. Also, the 8th annual newsletter was released.

On the occasion around 150 University and College Chancellor's and Chairmen participated.

Education Minister Harjot Bains while congratulating all said that it is the priority of the Government to provide quality education and "I am very delighted to see almost 70 percent of the higher education fraternity of Punjab in PUCA’s foundation day." He mentioned that Govt is not only committed to make Punjab state as a destination for technical education but also making the state leading to provide quality education in the entire nation.

Member Rajya Sabha, Satnam Singh Sandhu congratulated PUCA President Dr Anshu Kataria and PUCA team and said that he has given excellent contribution in the field of education. He has not only worked as a voice behind all unaided colleges of Punjab but he has also resolved many issues of education sector on national level for 16-17 states. He always stands with every initiative of PUCA and PUTIA.
