Public transport goes off road during evening hours in Kangan, commuters struggle
Commuters in the Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district are facing growing inconvenience as public transport remains off the road on many routes during evening hours. Locals said the lack of evening services on several routes has continued to create difficulties for residents, despite repeated complaints to transporters and concerned authorities.
People from villages, including Gund, Kullan, Gagengar, Wangath, and surrounding areas, have reportedly been facing these challenges for the past month. A group of students said that buses and Sumos are largely unavailable in the evenings, forcing those attending tuition classes in Ganderbal to struggle with commuting.
Manzoor Ahmed, an employee, said, “We always find public transport off in the evening hours, making it difficult for people to reach their destinations.” Locals have urged authorities to take immediate steps to restore evening transport services.
