Protests carried out in Ganderbal against civilian killings in militant attack
Ganderbal, Oct 23: The student community, along with civil society groups in various areas of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, held protests against the killing of seven civilians in the recent attack in the Gagangeer area of Sonamarg.
Scores of students protested in the Kangan area on Wednesday over the deaths resulting from a terror attack last week. The protesting students condemned the killings, stating that such incidents should not happen in Kashmir.
Similarly, civil society groups from Tehsil Gund and the Traders Union in Gund, along with civil society groups from Kangan, Ganderbal, Tulmulla, and Safapora, held a candlelight vigil to protest the killings. Civil society members from Gund, along with Traders Union members, conducted a candlelight march, denouncing the killings and calling for an end to the violence against innocents.
Notably, seven people, including a doctor, were killed in a major terror attack on a construction site in the Gagangeer area late Sunday evening. The attack has evoked massive condemnation.
