Protest in Jammu after man dies mysteriously

Rajouri, July 29: Protest broke out at Jammu’s Bantalab after a local young man, who was working as a private electrician, died mysteriously.

He family alleged that he was beaten by police during a raid on drugs front. Due to the movement of vehicles got suspended on busy road. The senior officers of police and civil administration intervened and got resolved the matter and pacified the protestors.

The deceased was identified as Shubham Sharma resident of Nardani Jammu. The protesting family members and locals said that teams of police conducted a raid at a ground in the area on Sunday evening when Shubham was allegedly beaten up and later taken to police post.

“ He was handed over to his family members in late evening hours on Sunday but in the intervening night, the young man developed health issues and was shifted to hospital where he died., the family members said alleging that deceased received internal injuries after police personnel beaten him.

Protest led to blockage of Jammu Bantalab Akhnoor road causing immense hardships to commuters.

Senior officers of police and civil administration including Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu in the situation and got the matter resolved and assuring investigation into the matter.
