Protest after man knocked to death by speedy vehicle in Rajouri
Rajouri, Jan 16: A protest demonstration rocked Bela Colony area of Rajouri town with locals blocked main road over death of a local man in an alleged incident of hit and run.
The deceased was identified as 45 yea old Ghulam Hussain resident of Ward 2, Rajouri.
Protesting family members of deceased said that he was walking on main road of Bela colony in Rajouri town when a speedy driven vehicle knocked him. The injuredwas taken to GMC Associated Hospital Rajouri but he succumbed to his injuries.
"Rash driving especially by the teenagers is creating blood bath on the roads of Rajouri and causing accidents," said protesters who raised concern over such incidents of “hit and run.”
They called for stern action into the matter.
The protestors were later pacified by a team of police station Rajouri who informed the protesters that a case under relevant sections of law have been registered and the vehicle involved in accident is being identified for action.
On the assurance of police team the protest was pacified by the locals.
