Property of drug peddler attached in Sopore: Police

Srinagar, May 15: The property of a drug peddler worth lakhs of rupees was attached in Sopore on Wednesday, Police said.

A statement of J&K Police issued here said that Police attached a residential house valued at approximately Rs 16 lakh and 10 marla land valued at approximately Rs 5 lakh in village Reban of Sopore under the NDPS Act, 1985.

It said that the property belonged to drug peddler Muhammad Ashraf Ganie, son of Ghulam Rasool Ganie of Reban, Sopore.

The statement said that the property was acquired by the accused from the gains of selling drugs.

It said that the inquiry revealed that the immovable property was raised and used for illicit trafficking by the drug peddler.
