"We all should preserve Kashmiri culture and language. It is our identity. People in every state talk in their mother tongue and promote their culture. People are more influenced with English but we should promote our own language and culture," the NC President said.

He further stressed on parents to inculcate religious values among their kids saying that by doing so, the young generation will realise the power of God. "And once parents teach their kids about religious values, they will respect other religions as well," Dr Farooq Abdullah said.

He also appreciated the management of the school for developing the State-of-the-Art institution in Valley. "I remember when Rajiv Gandhi was the prime minister, he wanted to establish Doon School here and he even once asked one of the ministers to start the process. Today I am so happy that we have one Doon School here. This man (Showkat Khan) has fulfilled the dream," NC President said.

Urging parents for their support and cooperation towards the educational institute, Dr Farooq Abdullah said that the institutions are not built by bricks and water but by people.

"So, I am very happy to see the contribution of the parents, teachers and students which has earned this institution reputation at international level," he said. He asked the teachers to treat the students like their own kids. "I have studies in Biscoe and one of my teachers was from RSS. But he once told all the students that he is RSS man outside the boundaries of the school and used to treat all the students like his own kids,"Dr Farooq Abdullah said.

Earlier in his welcome address, Chairman DSS Showkat Khan briefed about the 10 years journey and said that the management was so privileged to get affiliation of Netherland based organisation Wilmot Foundation since 2019.

"Our school has got international recognition and it was possible only because of the joint efforts of all the teachers, students and other staff of the institution," he said.

He said the school has represented at UN for implementing Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and four teachers of the school were felicitated at UN for implementation of the project. "Our vision remains unchanged and we aspire to be one of the leading institute at global state," he said.
