Prominent socio-political activist joins NC in Banihal

Banihal, June 24: Prominent socio-political activist Molvi Mohammad Akbar Zohda along with his supporters joined the National Conference in a formal event held in Banihal today.

The induction ceremony was attended by National Conference leader and district president, Ramban Sajjad Shaheen, who welcomed the activists into the party's ranks.

Shaheen emphasised the importance of socio-political leaders in contributing to a harmonious and equitable society. He expressed confidence that the new incumbents would bring valuable insights and energy to the National Conference's mission.

Shaheen has said that "a realisation has dawned on the people that there is no alternative to NC and the party alone can represent the social, political and economic aspirations and multifarious problems effectively and single-mindedly of the people of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir."

Shaheen said that the state is going through very difficult times and it is the people who have an important and valuable role to play in addressing the challenges faced by the people. He said a decisive battle is needed to be fought against divisive forces, who have taken central stage by exploiting regional and religious sentiments to further their myopic and nefarious political agenda."
