Prominent social worker Syed Jamaat Ali Shaheen joins PDP

Srinagar, Aug 22: Prominent social worker and figure in Ganderbal , Syed Jamaat Ali Shaheen, on Thursday made his debut in politics by joining People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

On the occasion hundreds of supporters accompanied him to the PDP headquarters where the joining took place.

Syed Jamaat Ali Shaheen hailing from Waliwar area of Ganderbal district had retired as Chief Accounts Officer from J&K Accounts Service department in year 2013, will be the party’s candidate for Kangan assembly seat .

Soon after his joining into the party, the PDP officially announced mandate to Syed Jamaat Ali Shaheen from Kangan Assembly Constituency which is now ST reserved.

“ JKPDP extends a warm welcome to Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Shaheen , former Treasury Officer from Wali War, Ganderbal-Kangan. His joining our party brings valuable experience and strengthens our commitment to advancing Jammu & Kashmir. Syed Jamaat Ali Shah has also been declared as the JKPDP contesting candidate for Kangan ( ST ) sea,t” a PDP statement said.

Talking to Greater Kashmir, Syed Jamaat Ali said that he has joined the politics to serve the people. He said that he will work for the uplift and empowering youth and women besides exploring employment opportunities for youth who are suffering due to unemployment issue.

“ I have always been interested in serving people, not politics. But after seeing the dedication of PDP leaders, I was inspired. The people of Kangan deserve progress, youth empowerment, and women empowerment. If given the chance, I am ready to serve and bring change to the lives of the poor and helpless,” Syed Jamat Ali said after joining PDP.
