Prominent Islamic scholar Mufti Sharif-ul-Hasan Qasmi passes away in Poonch
Poonch, Jan 12: Prominent Islamic scholar and religious leader Mufti Sharif-ul-Hasan Qasmi passed away early Monday morning at the age of 78, causing widespread grief across Poonch district.
Mufti Qasmi was the founder and chief administrator of Jamia Faiz-ul-Quran, a well-known religious and educational institution located in Mandi tehsil of Poonch. Known for his pious conduct, simple lifestyle, and commitment to communal harmony, he was widely respected across religious and social circles.
Condolences poured in from religious scholars, social activists, and political leaders, who expressed deep sorrow over his demise and paid rich tributes to his lifelong service to faith and society.
Mufti Sharif-ul-Hasan Qasmi had devoted his entire life to the preaching and propagation of Islam. He was among the senior alumni of Darul Uloom Deoband from the region and played a significant role in promoting religious education in the Pir Panjal belt.
According to family sources, his funeral prayers will be offered today at 12 noon at the premises of Jamia Faiz-ul-Quran, located at Qasmi Market, Mandi.
His demise is being widely mourned, with many describing it as an irreparable loss to the religious and educational landscape of the region.
