Progress of work on Chenani-Vailoo highway reviewed

Doda, Nov 25: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh today reviewed the pace of progress on Chenani-Vailoo National Highway 244 being executed by National Highway and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL).

He asked Tehsildars and National Highway and  Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) authorities to review the progress of work on NH244 in the district on regular intervals and discuss issues impeding the execution work.

The Chenani-Vailoo National Highway 244, connecting Chennai-Sudhmahadev-Anantnag, will serve as an alternative road connectivity, reducing travel expenses and distance to Kashmir by around 93 kilometers.

The DC reviewed package wise status of under execution work  in the jurisdiction of District Doda.

It was informed that Goha-Khellani Pakage-1 under execution of M/S Oasis- VIPL JY Infra Projects, is expected to be completed by 30th of March 2024. Goha-Khellani Pakage-2, under execution of M/S APCO Infratech Pvt Ltd, is expected to be completed by the end of January 2024. Similarly, Khellani bypass tunnel, Khellani- Chatroo Pakage-1 and Pakage-2 are scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2024.
