Programme on snow leopard conservation held in Ganderbal
Ganderbal, Nov 5: The College Eco Club and Department of Zoology in collaboration with Wildlife Research Conservation Foundation organised a photo exhibition-cum-awareness programme on snow leopard, its associated species and high-altitude landscape in the premises of West Campus, GDC Ganderbal, on Tuesday.
Tahir Gazenfer, State entomologist and Conservation biologist at Wildlife Research Conservation Foundation was the resource person. The exhibition was followed by hands-on training on capturing live photographs of wild animals. It was also aimed to provide a valuable learning experience to the students and foster their interest in wildlife conservation.
College Principal, Prof Fouzia Fatima, complimented the organisers for holding the important event. She urged students to contribute towards conservation of nature and natural resources including the wildlife.
Dr Shabana Aslam, Coordinator Eco Club introduced the programme and Dr Sameera Siraj, Head Department of Zoology welcomed the guests. Dr Fayaz Ahmed Ahenger, Assistant Professor Zoology supervised the signature campaign on “Save Nature” which was lead by Principal, Prof Fouzia Fatima. Dr Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, Associate Professor, Zoology, delivered the vote of thanks.
