Private Hospitals Association condemns attack on doctor at CHC Kralgund

Srinagar, Aug 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Private Hospitals and Dialysis Centres Association (JKPHDCA) has strongly condemned the recent attack on an on-duty doctor at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Kralgund in Kupwara district, calling it a serious threat to the safety of healthcare professionals.

Mir Faizan, President of JKPHDCA, expressed deep concern over the incident, stating, “We are deeply disturbed by this violent act, which poses a significant threat to the safety and well-being of healthcare professionals. The JKPHDCA unequivocally condemns any form of violence against healthcare workers, emphasising that such acts are unacceptable and compromise the delivery of medical services.”

Faizan urged the authorities to take strict action against the culprit and ensure adequate security for doctors and other medical staff. “Healthcare professionals must be able to perform their duties without fear of violence or intimidation,” he added.

Dr Masood ul Hassan, General Secretary of the association, while appreciating the prompt lodging of an FIR by the police as reported in the media, said, “More needs to be done. Ensuring the safety of healthcare professionals is crucial for maintaining the integrity of healthcare services in Jammu and Kashmir.”

He further emphasised that the association stands firmly with the healthcare community. “We are committed to providing quality healthcare to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and expect the authorities to safeguard healthcare professionals by creating a secure working environment,” Dr. Hassan said.
