‘Prioritising quality education essential for future generations’
Srinagar, Nov 2: Iqbal Mission School celebrated its 40th Foundation Day at its Saraf Kadal campus, marking four decades of dedication to quality education, community building, and excellence.
This year’s theme, "Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future – 40 Years of Educational Excellence," reflects the legacy of Dr Sir Muhammad Iqbal (RA), a distinguished philosopher, poet, and scholar whose vision has shaped the school’s commitment to nurturing young minds with values, ethics, and knowledge.
The event featured guests who have profoundly contributed to the education sector in J&K, including Chief Guest Dr. G.N. Var, President of the Private Schools Association, J&K (PSAJK); Guest of Honor Prof. G.N. Khaki, Director of the International Centre for Spiritual Studies, IUST; ZEO Zaldagar Razia Akhtar; Dean of Students, IUST, Dr. Asifa Mehraj Baba; Chairman of Iqbal Mission School, Nazir Ahmad Naqash; and parents.
Each guest was warmly felicitated with tokens of appreciation for their invaluable contributions to the field of education.
Students performed skits, dramas, and delivered speeches, celebrating the school’s legacy while inspiring future aspirations. Sixteen top graduates from previous batches were specially honoured for their outstanding academic achievements, symbolising the enduring impact of the school on its community. These students received certificates and mementos, highlighting their excellence and dedication to learning.
PSAJK President Var stated, "We place the utmost priority on providing quality education because it addresses the critical issues facing our future generations. Our children deserve to live with honour and dignity, and this begins with a strong educational foundation. By prioritising students' education today, we empower them to navigate tomorrow's challenges and contribute positively to society. Dr Var further emphasised, "Iqbal Mission School has set a benchmark in private education in J&K, consistently blending academic excellence with ethical values. This milestone is a testament to the school’s dedication to nurturing young minds for a positive societal impact."
G N Khaki, Director of the International Centre for Spiritual Studies, IUST, remarked, “Education encompasses both academics and character building. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the school’s Principal, Maqsooda, who expressed gratitude to the guests, students, parents, teachers, and staff. She acknowledged their unwavering support and looked forward to continued growth and success in the future.
