Principal Secretary Home reviews situation in Poonch

Rajouri, July 3: Principal Secretary, Home Department, J&K, Chandrakar Bharti Wednesday reviewed the prevailing ground situation in Poonch district during a situation review meeting convened at district headquarters in this border district.

Senior officers of Police, civil authorities, security agencies, and other security forces participated in this meeting being considered as vital given the prevailing security situation in Poonch.

The territorial officers of the administration briefed the meeting regarding the prevailing situation in terms of the overall situation, operational aspects as well as law and order aspects.

A threadbare discussion on several issues related to the overall situation, especially the security situation, took place in the district that included strengthening of Village Defence Committees (Guards) and other aspects of the security grid.

The overall security setup in this border district has been put on “high alert” to track the terrorists believed to be present in the areas of the district and who carried out terror-related incidents including an attack on an IAF convoy at Danna Shaistar a couple of months ago.
