New Delhi, Nov 23: On the eve of the 350th Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, President Droupadi Murmu paid homage to the revered Sikh Guru, describing him as an enduring symbol of courage, sacrifice, and humanity. In her message, the President said she offered her “humble tribute” to Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, whose life and sacrifice continue to inspire generations.

She noted that Guru Tegh Bahadurji laid down his life to defend righteousness, truth and human values, and that his actions stand as a powerful reminder of selfless service and moral courage.

“Guru Tegh Bahadur ji sacrificed his life to preserve the ideals of righteousness, humanity and truth. His valour, sacrifice and selfless service are a source of inspiration for everyone,” President Murmu said. Highlighting the relevance of Guruji’s teachings in today’s times, she called on citizens to carry forward his legacy by promoting peace, justice, unity and harmony across the nation. “Let us adopt his values in our lives and work to strengthen harmony and unity in our country,” the President added. Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, is remembered for his unwavering stand against oppression and his defence of religious freedom, ideals that continue to hold deep significance across India and beyond.
