President Murmu inaugurates international conference on Unani Medicine in Delhi
New Delhi, Feb 11: President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the International Conference on Innovation in Unani Medicine for Integrative Health Solutions in New Delhi today, marking Unani Day. The event honours Hakim Ajmal Khan, whose contributions helped establish the Unani system in India.
In her address, President Murmu highlighted India’s leadership in Unani education, research, and medicine production. She commended researchers for integrating modern technologies, including AI and machine learning, into traditional medicine. The conference will explore topics such as evidence-based research trends in Unani medicine and technological advancements in AYUSH systems.
Emphasizing a holistic approach to healthcare, the President highlighted the government’s efforts to mainstream AYUSH under the National Health Policy 2017. She acknowledged ongoing research in Unani institutions and the introduction of MD and PhD programs, expressing confidence in the future of Unani medical science.
