President Draupadi Murmu seeks nation’s prosperity, peace at Mahakumbh
New Delhi, Feb 10: President Draupadi Murmu, after taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam on Monday at Prayagraj, expressed her prayers for the nation’s prosperity, happiness, and peace. Sharing her reflections on social media, she described the spiritual significance of the Prayagraj Mahakumbh.
“I had the privilege of bathing at the sacred confluence of Maa Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati in the divine aura of Prayagraj Mahakumbh,” the President wrote on X. “This grand congregation of faith and devotion profoundly symbolizes India’s rich cultural heritage. Mahakumbh spreads the message of unity and spirituality to humanity. I pray to Maa Ganga to keep her blessings upon all, bringing happiness and peace into everyone’s lives.”
Accompanied by her family, President Murmu participated in various religious rituals, at Sangam, followed by an Aarti.
Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the President and presented her with gifts representing Uttar Pradesh’s cultural heritage, including items from the state’s One District, One Product (ODOP) initiative.
The Mahakumbh, a gathering of immense spiritual and cultural significance, continues to draw millions of devotees. The sacred confluence, where the rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati meet, has become an ocean of faith, echoing with prayers and chants from pilgrims from across the world.
