New Delhi, May 14: President Droupadi Murmu, the supreme commander of the countryís armed forces, was on Wednesday formally briefed on Operation Sindoor ñ a high-stakes counter-terrorism mission after which she commended the armed forcesí unwavering valour and joint resolve in defending the countryís frontiers.

In a high-level meeting at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan was joined by the Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, and Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi to present a detailed overview of the operation.

The meeting highlighted the significance of Operation Sindoor, which has been described by defence officials as a critical response to heightened threats along the border and across strategic theatres.

The Presidentís Secretariat issued an official message on social media platform X, saying, ìGeneral Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff, along with General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff, Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, and Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, called on President Droupadi Murmu and briefed her about Operation Sindoor. The President commended the valour and the dedication of the armed forces that made Indiaís response to terrorism a sterling success.î

President Murmu lauded the courage, professionalism, and coordination demonstrated by the Army, Navy, and Air Force in neutralising the threat. Officials familiar with the briefing said the President expressed deep appreciation for the seamless jointness displayed by the military leadership.
