Jammu, Jan 28: Former Minister and senior National Conference (NC) leader Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today said that Present dispensation has made lives of poor miserable.

According to a press release, he was speaking at a programme at Rehan Basera Shelter, Bahu Fort wherein essential items including blankets and woolen clothes were distributed among the inmates.

Sadhotra was the chief guest and former Minister and JKNC Central Zone President Babu Rampaul presided over. The programme was organised by Secretary Central Zone JKNC & Coordinator Jammu District Urban, Dr Vikas Sharma.

Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Sadhotra emphasised on the need to extend all sorts of help to the poor and needy people. He said, “National Conference believes in the philosophy of equality. Party always work for upliftment of poor people and devise policies for uplifting their living standard. Land to tiller was made possible during the rule of NC and many more such schemes were initiated by the NC government during its rule.”

He, however, expressed dismay over the anti-poor stance of the present dispensation which has made their lives miserable by stopping pensions to the poor, introducing smart electricity meters and many other such acts. He urged the NC cadre to organize many such events to help the needy people.

Babu Rampaul also lambasted the present dispensation for inflicting sufferings on the poor and deprived classes and demanded such steps should be taken which would ease the living of poor masses. He also appreciated the NC leaders who took the initiative of helping the inmates of Shelter Home, and reiterated the resolve of his party to help all the people in need.

Speaking on the occasion, Ankush Abrol said, "National Conference has been doing social works from time to time and always remains on the front to help the needy persons indiscriminately."
