New Delhi, Sep 30: Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Tuesday demanded the dismissal and arrest of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, alleging his involvement in a decades-old murder case, reports national media. Kishor cited discrepancies in documents related to Choudhary’s age that, he claimed, enabled him to evade trial in a 1995 case involving six killings in Munger district.

Kishor also linked Choudhary’s name to the 1999 Shilpi-Gautam case, which was investigated by the CBI and later closed as a suicide, reports TOI.

He said his party would soon approach the governor to press for Choudhary’s removal from the cabinet until cleared by the judiciary. The Jan Suraaj leader further warned that if action was not taken, his party would intensify its campaign. He also targeted state minister Ashok Choudhary, demanding the withdrawal of a `100 crore defamation notice and threatening to expose alleged property holdings worth `500 crore if no apology was issued within a week. Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary has dismissed the allegations, calling them politically motivated.
