Pralhad Joshi, Nitin Gadkari take joint ride in zero-emission, hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai
New Delhi, Jan 6: Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday took a joint ride in Toyota’s hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle, Mirai, underscoring the government’s push for green hydrogen and clean mobility.
On the occasion, Joshi himself drove the Mirai from Bharat Mandapam to Gadkari’s residence, highlighting the Centre’s commitment to promoting sustainable transport solutions in the country.
The Toyota Mirai is a second-generation hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle that generates electricity through a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, emitting only water vapour as a by-product. The vehicle offers a driving range of around 650 km and can be refuelled in under five minutes, making it one of the most advanced zero-emission mobility solutions globally.
