Power supply affected in several areas of Rajouri district

Rajouri, Dec 17: Power supply has been affected in several areas of Rajouri district after the recent snowfall and rains and subsequent cold conditions. The people allege frequent power cuts in the areas.

The affected areas include Darhal, Thanamandi, Kotranka, Khawas and Budhal.

“At Bhella village of Khawas tehsil frequent power cuts are occurring," said a local Ankit Kumar. He demanded intervention of senior officers of Power Development Department (PDD) to ensure power supply as per the requirement.

Bimil Malik from Darhal urged the officials of department to introspect their working. “We in Darhal are suffering due to poor state of power supply and life of every citizen is affected," he said.

Abdul Rehman from Darhal said that after every few minutes of power supply, there is and this scene goes on for entire day.

He said that main problem is being faced in feeder lines coming from grid stations to receiving stations. The technical snags at village level transmission network also hit the supply.
