Power shutdown announced in J&K for line maintenance
Srinagar, Oct 08: Power Development Corporations across Jammu and Kashmir have announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns from October 8 to November 4 to facilitate maintenance and tree-pruning works along high-tension lines.
According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution), Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), pruning and branch cutting along 33 KV lines will require shutdowns affecting several areas of South Kashmir.
The 33 KV Wanpoh SICOP line will remain shut on October 15 and 20 from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm, disrupting power supply to Shamsipora, SICOP, Zirpora, Veeri, Srigufwara, Cheeniwader, and adjoining areas. Similarly, shutdown of the 33 KV Awantipora–Sangam First and Second lines will be observed on October 13 and 18, affecting power supply to Bijbehara Town, Sangam, Khiram, Marhama, Panzgam, Kaigam, Chersoo, and nearby areas during the same hours.
The 33 KV Gopalpora–Pahalgam line will remain shut on October 11 and 13 from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm, impacting Hutmurrah, Salia, Sallar, Aishmuqam, Batkoot, Pahalgam, and adjoining localities. Power supply to Mattan and Iqbalabad will also be affected on October 15 due to the shutdown of the 33 KV Gopalpora–Iqbalabad line, while the Moman receiving station will remain off on October 14 for maintenance of the 33 KV Moman Tap line.Jammu & Kashmir tourism
Meanwhile, the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has also announced scheduled power cuts across multiple areas for system improvement works.
According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution) JPDCL, Jammu, the power supply to Phinter Dadwara, Bhaddu, and adjoining areas will remain affected on October 9 and 11 from 9 am to 5 pm. The Executive Engineer, Electric Division-I Parade, Jammu, informed that outages will occur in parts of Manda-3 and Manda-4 feeders from October 8 to November 4, with daily cuts between 9 am and 4 pm.
Areas to be affected include Ahata near Exchange Road-II, Rehari-I, Rehari-III, Near CRP, Hari Palace, Doordarshan, Opposite Army Gate, and Rehari Chungi, each scheduled for shutdowns on specific dates within this period.
Officials from both power corporations have advised residents to plan accordingly and assured that supply will be restored immediately after completion of the maintenance works.
